Halving Your PC’s Startup Time!
If you are reading this then you are probably suffering from an acute case of slow computer. But fear no more this little windows utility will help you and your computer get back on your feet.
Msconfig is a windows utility which among other things controls what programs will startup with Windows when you first turn your computer on. By stopping programs like MSN Messenger, and all the other junk software which you have forgotten to uninstall, from starting with Windows then you can drastically decrease the time it takes for your computer to startup and the overall speed of your PC. YAY.
Depending on what version of Windows you have accessing the Msconfig utility can vary. In Windows Vista and Windows 7 you can easily get to it by typing msconfig into the search bar at the bottom of the start menu and pressing enter. In windows XP you will need to click on the run utility in the right hand side of the start menu and then typing Msconfig and pressing enter. (In both Win 7 & Vista msconfig can also be accessed in Run)
Each of these two methods should bring up a small window in the middle of your desktop titled System Configuration.
Once this window appears you will have to click on the startup tab which is the second from the right this will bring up a list of applications that start with Windows.
From this window you are able to deselect the applications which you do not want to start up. Focus your attention on the left hand side of the window underneath the startup item subtitle. These are the names of the programs that will be starting with Windows. This is the area where you will have to tread carefully, if you deselect the wrong application then you could cause issues with your entire system, which is why it is important to deselect only the programs that you are familiar with and don’t want running at startup. If the title is not fully visible hover your cursor over its name, this should bring up a bubble revealing its full title.
Once you have identified the applications which you don’t want starting up de-check their box on the left hand side.
Now that you have deselected the applications making sure that you have not chosen any system components, we can select apply and then ok. This then brings up a small window asking if you want to restart now or later we want to select restart now but before we do that we also want to select do not show this message again otherwise that window will appear every time windows starts which can get quiet tiresome.
Congratulations! You have just successfully trimmed your computers startup time! I hope you experience the benefits of this easy to use tool. Remember to only deselect programs which you recognise and know that you will not need, or don’t use, as it can damage your system, were you to get carried away.

How to Reinstall Microsoft Outlook in Microsoft Office
Microsoft Outlook is the most widely used email client among Windows users. Currently in the version 2010, Outlook has given users the freedom of creating and managing email accounts, contact lists, journals, attachments, and other personal information. However, users often face problems while using Outlook and thus decide to uninstall and reinstall the program. Though the reinstallation procedure is similar to the initial installation procedure, some users may still feel the need of an expert Microsoft tech support that guides them from the beginning to the end. However, users can reinstall Outlook using this step-by-step guide.
Instructions:
Using the installation disk:
First ensure that Outlook has been totally removed from your system. Here, we also assume that you have already backed up your Outlook data for importing later into Outlook. If you didn’t backup your Outlook data before un-installation, you won’t have access to your Outlook data after Outlook has been reinstalled. Let’s begin with the installation process.
Insert the Office installation disk into the CD\DVD-ROM drive of your computer, close any window that pops up automatically after inserting the disk, and double click on the My Computer icon on the desktop. Locate the CD\DVD-ROM icon of the drive and double click on it. It will automatically launch the setup process. When finished, double click on the Setup icon to start the installation. Follow the wizard instructions, select Outlook from the listed Microsoft Office components, enter all the necessary information such as product key, accept the license agreement, and complete the process. When prompted, reboot the computer. It is must to reboot the computer. Otherwise, the installation won’t be completed.
Without the installation disk:
It is not possible to reinstall Outlook without the installation disk. If you have misplaced the disk, then you must contact Microsoft support services for the replacement media. If you downloaded the product from Microsoft’s website and never with a disk, then you must look through your mails or data to find out the link that you initially downloaded Outlook from. If you don’t have access to that link, then contact Microsoft support services for the link or installation disk. You will be required to present your original proof of purchase\shipment to Microsoft in order to prove that you are already a user of the particular program.
Additional Tips:
If you purchased Outlook as a standalone product, then install it using its own disc and not the Office disk.
You must have access to your product key to reinstall whichever Outlook version you have. If you downloaded Outlook from Microsoft’s website, then you must have got the product key in your email. If you have misplaced the product key and are unable to find it, download an automatic (free or paid) tool from a trusted website to find out the product key. It is recommended that you download such program from only trusted websites in order to avoid carrying virus infections into your computer. Usually, product key is printed on the back or inside of the CD case.
